What comes with The Original FidoRido®?The FidoRido® comes ready to use with the durable base container, booster cushion, fleece cover, 2 straps, 1 harness, a storage pouch with 2 self-adhesive hooks and an instruction manual. What is the difference between the one-seater and the two-seater?The two-seater is the same as the one-seater, but comes with 2 sets of straps and 2 harnesses. What are the dimensions of the FidoRido®?23"” long x 18 ½"” wide x 10”" deep. The booster cushion is 6"” high. Is the 30-lb. weight limit for each dog or two dogs together? The FidoRido® holds one dog up to 30 lbs. or two small dogs with a combined weight of 30 lbs. What if my dog weighs more than 30 lbs.? If your dog can fit into a 30"” harness, but weighs 30-35 lbs., then it will probably work for your dog. Otherwise, check out the PetBuckle Travel Kit on our Products page. How does a dog stay in the FidoRido®? The FidoRido® has two adjustable straps on either side of the container, which attach to the pulling harness provided. How does the FidoRido® install?The FidoRido® installs easily using your car's seatbelt. Shoulder belt and lap belt can be used together. Will my dog be able to move around?Yes. Your dog can stand, sit or lie down. But with the adjustable straps, you control how much movement you allow. Will my dog be able to see out the window?Most dogs can see out the window while standing or sitting. Tiny dogs may not be able to see out the window while lying down. Just place a pillow on the cushion under the fleece cover. You can also place a pillow or phonebook under the FidoRido® to raise it higher. Why do I need to measure my dog's girth?In order to provide your dog with the proper fitting harness, we need the girth measurement of your pet. Harnesses may be exchanged for three months to allow for puppy growth. How do I measure my dog's girth? Measure around the rib cage just behind the front legs. What if the harness doesn't fit?We will exchange the harness if it doesn't fit. We offer a free Harness Exchange Program, which allows you to exchange the harness as many times as you need for three months to allow for puppy growth (as long as it's not chewed through). Just contact us at info_fidorido.com or toll-free at 877-709-2154 (US/Canada). Shipping rates apply for international exchanges. What if I already have a harness?The FidoRido® provides a pulling harness, which has a metal d-ring on each side for attaching the straps. The purpose of the two-strap, two-ring system, is to equalize the pressure in case of a sudden stop. It also keeps your dog from getting out of the FidoRido. If you need to, you can use a standard harness and attach the straps to the leash ring. Can I use it with my dog's collar?We do not recommend attaching the FidoRido® straps to a collar, as the force of an impact would all be placed on the dog's neck. What about airbags?In newer model cars, airbags do not deploy unless the weight on the passenger seat is 60 lbs. or more. Otherwise, we recommend the FidoRido be placed in the back seat. What colors are available?The FidoRido® container comes in gray or tan. The harness colors are black and red. The straps are black. Sherpa fleece covers are available in white, beige and black. Light-weight fleece covers are available in white with black paw prints and red with black paw prints. Our newest choice is the extra cuddle soft in black with tan dog bones. (Very cute!) What is your return policy?You may return your FidoRido® up to 30 days from date of purchase for any reason, as long as it is in good condition. We are sorry, but we cannot refund shipping and handling. Please contact us before returning. When will my order ship? Under normal conditions, your FidoRido will ship within a week of purchase via UPS Ground. Express mail and international orders ship via the US Postal Service. Other orders, like harnesses, straps or fleece covers, ship via US Priority Mail.

We’'ve all seen dogs sitting on drivers'’ laps with their heads out the window. Not only is this unsafe for driving, but unrestrained pets in even low impact accidents can fly through the windshield and be seriously injured or killed. They can also become projectiles, hitting passengers and causing serious injury or death.

This issue is being addressed by state legislatures with the so-called “doggie seat belt laws.” However, most people do not realize that specific pet restraint laws are not required as police can ticket anyone that is being distracted while driving, whether by a cell phone or a pet riding loose in the car.

After an accident, traumatized dogs have been known to run into traffic causing additional accidents.

Some dogs have tried to keep rescue workers away from their injured owners.
